MOSCOW, December 7. /TASS/. The Eurasian Economic Union and Iran are set to sign a free trade agreement in the near future, according to handout materials released ahead of the talks between Russian and Iranian presidents Vladimir Putin and Ebrahim Raisi that are scheduled to be held in Moscow on Thursday.
"The reinvigoration of Russian-Iranian ties will be helped by the conclusion of a free trade agreement between the EAEU and Iran. The negotiations have been successfully completed, and the signing of the document will take place in the near future," the materials said.
EAEU countries and Iran now have a regime of preferential trade based on a temporary agreement dated May 17, 2018.
