Russia’s MFA urges world to unite for respect to overcome today’s crises

Russia’s MFA pointed to what it said were the West’s desperate efforts to maintain the elusive dominance in an attempt to substitute the concept of a rule-based world order for international law and the UN Charter

MOSCOW, March 4. /TASS/. Bringing countries together on the basis of respect and a positive agenda based on the principles of the UN Charter is the only solution to today’s crises, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Saturday.

Summing up Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Vershinin’s address to the summit-meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement on Post-COVID-19 Recovery, the ministry said, "The Russian address emphasized that the irresponsible policies of the collective West have been a major obstacle to recovery and progress."

Russia’s MFA pointed to what it said were the West’s desperate efforts to maintain the elusive dominance in an attempt to substitute the concept of a rule-based world order for international law and the UN Charter.

"A better rallying of the countries around respect and a positive agenda built in pursuit of the goals and principles of the UN Charter can be the only way out of today’s interconnected crises," according to the Russian Foreign Ministry’s statement.

Participants in the summit underscored the need for multilateral cooperation in international affairs, the MFA said.
