Cuba, Russia discuss moves to counteract color revolutions at security consultations

HAVANA, March 2. /TASS/. The security consultations Russia and Cuba held in Havana on Wednesday included debates about the countries’ joint efforts to counteract color revolutions and the destructive activity of NGOs.

According to the Russian Security Council, its Secretary Nikolay Patrushev and Cuban Interior Minister Lazaro Alberto Alvarez Casas exchanged opinions on global and regional stability. They laid an emphasis on bilateral cooperation in combating illegal drugs and human trafficking, and the fight against transnational organized crime, as well as the international search of people.

Russian Security Council, Interior Ministry, Emergencies Ministry, Justice Ministry, Foreign Ministry officials and experts from the country’s financial watchdog took part in the consultations.

Earlier, Patrushev was received by Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel and Cuban Revolution leader Raul Castro.

The Russian Security Council secretary arrived in Havana on Wednesday and earlier this week, he visited Algeria and Venezuela to discuss security cooperation with his counterparts.
