Lavrov dubs Biden’s visit to Kiev as ‘show’

The top diplomat also pointed to the futility of the West's actions

MOSCOW, February 21. /TASS/. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov commented on Tuesday on reports about US President Joe Biden's visit to Kiev and information about new arms deliveries to Ukraine, dubbing this as "a show."

He also pointed to the futility of the West's actions. "As a show goes on, so it goes on, everything works exactly in this vein from the point of view of our former Western colleagues and from the point of view of saving the Nazi regime, the attempts are futile," Lavrov told the "Moscow. Kremlin. Putin" program on the Rossiya-1 TV channel on Tuesday.

Earlier, during his unannounced trip to Kiev, Biden announced a new US military aid package to Ukraine worth about $500 million. It was the US president's first trip to Ukraine since Russia's special military operation began on February 24, 2022. The visit had been kept a secret.
