Too early to speak about Putin’s possible participation in G20 summit — diplomat

The 18th G20 summit has been scheduled for September 9-10, 2023 in New Delhi

MOSCOW, January 30. /TASS/. It is too early to say whether Russian President Vladimir Putin is going to take part in the next Group of Twenty summit, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrey Rudenko said on Monday.

"So far, it is difficult to speak about it preliminarily, everything will depend on the president’s schedule," he told reporters.

India took over the presidency in the Group of Twenty on December 1, 2022. The 18th G20 summit has been scheduled for September 9-10, 2023 in New Delhi. Along with the leaders of the G20 nations, the leaders of nine more countries, namely Bangladesh, Egypt, Spain, Mauritius, Nigeria, the Netherlands, Oman, the United Arab Emirates, and Singapore, have been invited.

Russia’s G20 Sherpa Svetlana Lukash told TASS earlier that there is every chance that President Putin will take part in the G20 summit in New Delhi.
