No specifics about possibility of negotiations between Russia and West in Turkey — Kremlin

Dmitry Peskov did not rule out that the leaders of Russia and Turkey might discuss Ankara’s initiative to host such talks at their meeting in Kazakhstan’s Astana

MOSCOW, October 10. /TASS/. Moscow has not received any specific proposals to hold talks with Washington, London, Paris and Berlin in Turkey, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters on Monday.

"We haven’t received anything. There are no specifics on the matter," he said.

According to the Russian presidential spokesman, "there is a need to figure out what the goal of such a meeting will be, what the result of the meeting could be and whom it could involve," before speculating about the possibility of talks.

However, Peskov did not rule out that the leaders of Russia and Turkey might discuss Ankara’s initiative to host such talks at their meeting in Kazakhstan’s Astana.

Turkey’s Milliyet newspaper reported on October 7 that Turkey planned to arrange Russia’s talks on Ukraine with four Western powers (the UK, Germany, the US and France) but there has been no official confirmation of the report.
