Russia to take part in G20 summit - Putin

President added that he had not yet decided whether to attend the event

SAMARKAND, September 16. /TASS/. Russia will take part in the G20 summit on the Indonesian island of Bali in November, President Vladimir Putin told reporters on Friday, adding that he had not yet decided whether to attend the event.

"I’ll look into it and we will make a decision. Russia will participate," he said at a press conference following a visit to Uzbekistan.

"Actually, I have already been to Bali. It’s a beautiful place, but it’s not the beautiful scenery that matters here. We’ll see how the situation will unfold in the economy and other fields," Putin added.

"I have an invitation to attend the G20 summit. The host country’s president told me about it during a visit to Moscow. He later made a phone call, saying: "Keep in mind that there is certain pressure but my position is firm, we would like to see you at the summit," the Russian leader noted.
