US seeking to use NATO to preserve unipolar world — senior Russian diplomat

According to Alexander Grushko, this system made it possible for the US to lay claims for a global role for years

MOSCOW, May 27. /TASS/. The United States is seeking to use NATO and its close allies in a bid to preserve the unipolar world order, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko said on Friday.

"The United States is seeking to use NATO and its allies, who are the closest to it ideologically, to try to preserve the unipolar world, the system of unfair world order, which used to serve the United States’ interests," he said in an interview with the Rossiya-24 television channel.

According to Grushko, this system made it possible for the United States to lay claims for a global role for years.

He stressed that now it is a "moment of clarity" in terms of the development of international relations and "the unipolar world "is living out its days." "A multipolar world is already here, with the drivers of economic development, political influence and military might shifting to the East, to other regions of the world. And the United States and NATO members should reckon with this multipolar reality," he added.
