Russian President orders cancellation of import duties for certain agricultural equipment

The list includes beet harvesters, beet seeders and potato harvesters, and machines used in gardening

MOSCOW, April 27. /TASS/. Import customs duties should be canceled for certain kinds of agricultural equipment having no counterparts in Russia, according to the list of assignments of President Vladimir Putin posted on Wednesday on the Kremlin’s website.

"Taking into account earlier given instructions, measures should be taken aimed at abolishing the import customs duties for individual kinds of agricultural machinery and spare parts to them, having no counterparts in the Russian Federation, including beet harvesters, beet seeders and potato harvesters, and machines used in gardening," the document says.

The head of state ordered also to take measures for increasing production of agricultural machinery and equipment, fishing vessels and their key components in Russia. Putin assigned the task of "providing the maximal localization of such production and construction on the territory of the Russian Federation and funding of relevant efforts."
