Lawmaker says Russia’s success in Ukraine will crush Western double standards

Leonid Slutsky made the remarks to comment on Scholz’s statement that Russia must not be allowed to win in Ukraine

MOSCOW, April 19. /TASS/. Chairman of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs Leonid Slutsky on Tuesday said a successful completion of the Russian special operation in Ukraine will crush proponents of a unipolar world and Western double standards.

"A successful completion of the special operation of the Russian armed forces in Ukraine will be a civilizational failure of the apologists of the unipolar world and the collapse of the double standards of the collective West," he said on Telegram. "That’s what Mrs. [German Chancellor Olaf] Scholz and [US President Joe] Biden can’t allow. That’s why they are ready to help the conflict to continue with their money and weapons to the last Ukrainian standing."

Slutsky made the remarks to comment on Scholz’s statement that "Russia must not be allowed to win in Ukraine."

On February 24 Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a special military operation in response to a request for help by the heads of the Donbass republics. Afterward, the US, EU, UK and some other countries imposed sanctions on Russian individuals and legal entities.
