Kremlin regrets that talks with Ukraine delegation did not begin Sunday, it was possible

The Russian delegation has been waiting in Belarus for a long time, Dmitry Peskov pointed out

MOSCOW, February 28. /TASS/. Moscow regrets that talks with the Ukrainian delegation did not begin a day earlier, there was such a possibility, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov told journalists on Monday.

"The only thing, we regret that these negotiations did not start a day ago, there was such a possibility. You know that our delegation has been waiting there, in Belarus, for a long time," the spokesman said. "And the negotiations could have started during the night too, our delegation was ready at midnight, and at 1am and at 2am," he said. "But the opponents have arrived just now. Let’s hope that these negotiations kick off now, as we speak," he said.

Previously, head of the Russian delegation to the talks Presidential Aide Vladimir Medinsky stated that an agreement was achieved with the Ukrainian side Sunday to have a meeting in the Gomel Region of Belarus.
