Putin warns against imposing any values or principles of order on other countries

The Russian president stressed that "when a real crisis breaks out, just one universal value remains — this is human life"

SOCHI, October 21. /TASS/. No one should impose their own values or principles of order on any country, Russian President Vladimir Putin told the plenary session of the Valdai International Discussion Club.

"One should not impose anything on anyone, either the principles of social political system or values, which someone has declared universal due to their own considerations. It’s evident that when a real crisis breaks out, just one universal value remains — this is human life," the Russian leader said.

Meanwhile, Putin noted that it’s up to each state to decide on its own how to protect people depending on its capabilities, culture and traditions. "I will once again note how challenging and dangerous the coronavirus pandemic has become. As we know today, more than 4.9 mln people have died because of it. These terrible figures are compared to and even surpass the losses of major participants of World War I," the president said.
