Three Russians identified among victims of plane crash in Kazakhstan

Kazakhstan’s Emergencies Ministry previously reported that the bodies of all victims had been recovered

ASTANA, December 26. /TASS/. Of the 38 victims in the plane crash near the city of Aktau in Kazakhstan, ten individuals have been identified, including three Russian citizens, a source in the operational headquarters established at the site told TASS.

"Ten individuals have been identified. Among them are: three Russian citizens, three Kazakh citizens, and four Azerbaijani citizens," the source said.

Kazakhstan’s Emergencies Ministry previously reported that the bodies of all victims had been recovered, and by the morning of December 26, seven people had been identified.

The Azerbaijan Airlines Embraer 190, en route from Baku to Grozny, crashed near Aktau, Kazakhstan, on December 25. The plane was carrying 67 people, including 62 passengers—mostly Azerbaijani citizens—along with nationals from Russia, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan, and five crew members. According to the latest reports, 38 people, including seven Russians, were killed, while 29 others survived. A special flight dispatched by Russia’s Emergencies Ministry has transported nine Russian nationals, including a child, injured in the crash from Aktau.
