Flood in Russia’s Orenburg Region classified as federal emergency — minister

Over 4,100 people from all federal and regional structures are working in the flood zone, 800 units of equipment are involved

ORSK, April 7. /TASS/. The government commission has decided to classify the flood in Russia’s Orenburg Region as a federal emergency, Emergencies Ministry Alexander Kurenkov said.

"Taking into account the current situation and the reports we have heard, I propose to classify the emergency situation in the Orenburg Region as a federal emergency and to establish a federal level of response," he said at a meeting of the regional government commission.

According to Deputy Emergencies Minister Ilya Denisov, over 4,100 people from all federal and regional structures are working in the flood zone, 800 units of equipment are involved.
