Magnitude 5.4 quake rocks Japan’s north, no tsunami warning

There was no information about victims or destruction, the Japan Meteorological Agency said

TOKYO, May 23./TASS/. A magnitude 5.4 earthquake occurred on Monday in the north of Japan. According to the Japan Meteorological Agency, the epicenter was off the southern coast of Hokkaido Island, the seismic focus was a depth of about ten kilometers under the ocean floor.

There was no information about victims or destruction, no tsunami warning was issued.
