MOSCOW, June 9. /TASS/. The Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and Silk Road project can complement each other and set up a new model of economic cooperation in Eurasia, Russian Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matviyenko said on Tuesday at a meeting with Chairman of China’s Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress Zhang Dejiang.
"The possibility of cooperation between EAEU and economic belt of the Silk Road, which can complement each other, is of special interest," Matviyenko said. It is possible to link these two economic models with the prospects of launching new economic cooperation in Eurasia, she noted.
"The defining factor [of bilateral relations] is the longevity of our agreements with cooperation prospects for 20-30 years. It creates an atmosphere of stability, reliability, security for business," she added.
