MOSCOW, January 30. /TASS/. Roman Abramovich is not a person of interest in the German probe into Deutsche Bank, a spokesperson of the businessman told TASS.
"The Frankfurt Prosecutor’s Office, which is dealing with the investigation and searches in Deutsche Bank, confirmed that Mr. Abramovich is not a suspect in that case and no charges have been brought against him," the spokesperson said.
Legal action was initiated in connection with reports in mass media that "groundlessly linked" Abramovich with this case, he continued. Such reports were based on unreliable data from a German news outlet, the spokesperson noted.
"Some news outlets have already revised their reports and removed the name of Mr. Abramovich. The others are expected to follow suit," he added.
Der Spiegel wrote earlier that searches in Deutsche Bank’s offices had been carried out allegedly due to business ties the financial institution had with companies controlled by Abramovich.
