KURSK, January 30. /TASS/. First power generating unit of the Kursk nuclear power plant (NPP) 2 has started pilot operation, Rosenergoatom company said on its Telegram account.
"The newest nuclear power generating unit of Russia reached 40% capacity. Pilot operation started yesterday at the first power generating unit of the Kursk NPP 2 with the WWER-TOI reactor - the phase following the power startup phase," the company said.
The pilot operation program provides for the gradual increase of the power generating unit capacity to the 100% rated level. The power generating unit works with the load of 408 MW as of January 30 "and already generated 71 mln kWh of electric power to the network during its functioning time," Rosenergoatom informed.
