TASHKENT, October 10. /TASS/. Russia boosted its gas supplies to Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan by 15% in January-August 2025, the press service of the Russian Trade Mission in Uzbekistan reported.
"Over the first eight months of the year, Gazprom increased exports of Russian natural gas to Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan by 15%. Gazprom CEO Alexey Miller stated that the combined GDP of the three countries could grow by 60% over the next five to six years, which would drive higher energy and gas consumption," the statement said.
One of the catalysts for expanding Russian gas deliveries to Central Asian countries will be the planned Power of Siberia-2 gas pipeline to China.
It was also reported that, according to data from the National Statistics Committee, Uzbekistan reduced its gas imports from Turkmenistan and Russia by 27.9% in January-August to $885.9 mln. At the same time, the country’s Ministry of Energy has not disclosed the physical volumes or the cost structure of imported gas.
