MOSCOW, April 1. /TASS/. Sakhalin Energy, shipped 10.2 mln metric tons of liquefied natural gas (LNG) in 2024, the Sakhalin-2 project operator.
LNG shipments were made to Japan (56.4% of total shipments), China (27.8%) and South Korea (15.8%). The share of China in the sales structure slightly increased in annual terms, and the shares of Japan and South Korea declined. In 2024, LNG from Sakhalin accounted for about 2.5% of global LNG demand, 3.8% of demand in Asia-Pacific, 8.4% of demand in Japan, 3.6% of demand in China, and 3.5% in South Korea.
"Current production volumes of the company are above contracted supplies, which provides an opportunity to produce further product batches for sales in the market," the company said.
Sakhalin Blend oil shipments from the project amounted to about 3.1 mln metric tons in 2024.
