MOSCOW, March 21. /TASS/. Adviser to the President of the Russian Federation Anton Kobyakov and Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Russia Jose Antonio Morato Tavares have had a meeting, with a proposal to place a country stand at the platform of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) disclosed to the Indonesian party, the press service of Roscongress Foundation told TASS.
"The meeting discussed the participation of Indonesian representatives in the SPIEF-2025 business programme and the preparation of the Russia-Indonesia business dialogue as part of the Forum. There was also a proposal to place a country stand at SPIEF, which could demonstrate to guests and participants of the Forum Indonesia’s investment opportunities, its projects in tourism and other sectors. The parties declared their readiness to develop cooperation between the countries in the political, trade, economic, tourism, and cultural spheres," the press service said in a statement following the meeting in Moscow.
Joint work at SPIEF will give impetus to the development of long-term mutual dialogue between Russia and Indonesia in a wide range of areas, Kobyakov noted.
"Indonesia is a reliable and time-tested partner for Russia. Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia traditionally take part in the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. St. Petersburg is visited by representatives of government authorities, trade and industrial unions and associations, and public organizations and associations, as well as the Indonesian business community representing the real estate and construction sectors, as well as the financial and insurance industries," he was quoted as saying.
In turn, Jose Antonio Morato Tavares said that the Indonesian business community is interested in developing practical cooperation with Russia both bilaterally and within the framework of the Russia-ASEAN dialogue partnership.
The parties also discussed preparations to the Russia-Indonesia Business Forum, which will be held in Jakarta on April 14-15, Roscongress Foundation added. At the end of the meeting, Kobyakov invited representatives of the Indonesian delegation to participate in the Eastern Economic Forum, the Russian Energy Week International Forum, and Let’s Travel! Russian Tourism Forum.
