MOSCOW, March 20. /TASS/. En+ Group’s total electricity generation in 2024 amounted to 90.7 bln kWh, reflecting a 6.5% increase, according to the company’s report.
The group’s total hydroelectric power generation in 2024 rose by 7.1% to 73.7 bln kWh. The company clarified that this increase was driven by a 9.2% rise in electricity consumption within the Irkutsk energy system, as well as a decrease in generation from the Angara River hydroelectric station cascade in the second half of 2024.
Electricity generation at En+ thermal power plants (TPPs) increased by 3%, reaching 16.9 bln kWh. Meanwhile, heat supply declined by 4% to 26.3 mln Gcal, which En+ attributed to weather conditions - the average monthly temperature in 2024 was 1°C higher than in the previous year.
During the period under review, power generation at the Angara Cascade HPPs (Irkutsk, Bratsk, and Ust-Ilimsk) increased by 4.5% to 55.5 bln kWh. The total generation of the Krasnoyarsk HPP increased by 15.8% to 18.3 bln kWh. At the same time, the Abakan solar power plant generated 5.8 mln kWh of electricity (- 3.3%) due to fewer sunny days, the report said.
In addition, the modernization of equipment at the Bratsk, Ust-Ilimsk, Irkutsk, and Krasnoyarsk hydroelectric power plants ensured an increase in generation by 2.501 bln kWh in 2024. This allowed to avoid greenhouse gas emissions due to partial substitution of power generation at thermal power plants of power systems.
