Volkswagen claims bestseller spot among used cars in Russia this fall

The demand for European used cars increased by 6.1% from September to November 2024, while the supply grew by 6% compared to this summer

MOSCOW, December 17. /TASS/. Volkswagen ranked as the top-selling European used car in fall 2024, according to research by Avito Avto shared with TASS.

"Avito Avto analyzed data on demand, supply, and prices for European used cars in fall 2024. The segment shows consistent buyer interest, representing about 25% of the total demand on the platform, with the Volkswagen Polo emerging as the most sought-after model," the research states.

The demand for European used cars increased by 6.1% from September to November 2024, while the supply grew by 6% compared to this summer. The average price for these cars stands at 1.25 million rubles ($12,200).

In terms of demand, Volkswagen leads with a share of 4.66%, followed by Mercedes-Benz at 4.21% and BMW at 3.62%. Renault (2.78%) and Opel (1.92%) round out the top five European brands.
