Myanmar’s PM discusses issues of boosting cooperation with Eurasian Economic Commission

BANGKOK, April 11. /TASS/. Myanmar’s Prime Minister Min Aung Hlaing and Minister in Charge of Integration and Macroeconomics at the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) Sergey Glazyev discussed issues of mutual export of goods, direct payments, technical cooperation in agriculture and tourism in Naypyidaw, The Global New Light of Myanmar newspaper reported.

In particular, the sides shared views on production of high-quality petroleum products, as well as discussed prospects of establishing cooperation in the textile industry and other sectors.

Myanmar’s Minister for Investment and Foreign Economic Relations Kan Zaw stressed earlier that it is important to hold the first meeting of the joint working group on cooperation with the Eurasian Economic Commission. Speaking at the working session in Naypyidaw, he noted that such contacts positively influence "the strengthening of cooperation between Myanmar and EEC and the creation of mutually beneficial economic cooperation." It is possible to reach closer economic contacts, in addition to bilateral relations between EAEU member states and Myanmar, through sectoral dialogues, Kan Zaw said.
