Cambodia Airlines completes its first flight to Singapore with stopover in Sanya

For Hainan, this is the first scheduled passenger route with the fifth freedom of the air rights

HAIKOU /China/, December 1. /TASS/. Cambodia Airlines has successfully performed its first flight on a new route between Phnom Penh and Singapore with a stopover in the Chinese city of Sanya (southern Hainan Province), Sansha Weishi TV channel reported.

Flight KR9755 departed Phnom Penh International Airport at 09:36 local time (04:36 Moscow time) on Friday for Phoenix International Airport in Sanya. After the stopover in Hainan, the aircraft continued to Singapore.

To Hainan, this is the first scheduled passenger route with the fifth freedom of the air rights, the report states. It provides the right of the airline to transport people and cargo from one state to another with a transit stop in a third country. Tickets are available to any of the landing points along the route.

According to the news channel, all this allows to significantly expand the international aviation route network and contributes to the development of the global market. It is an important indicator for measuring the level of openness of the region and business environment to the outside world.

According to Han Luhai, Secretary of the CPC Sanya Municipal Committee, launching such a route will increase the volume of international transit passenger and cargo traffic to Hainan Province, accelerate the spread of the influence of the Air Silk Road and support the construction of an international consumption and tourism center in Sanya.

The opening of the Phnom Penh-Sanya-Singapore passenger flight with the fifth freedom of the air rights will provide an opportunity to utilize the advantages of the three major hubs, accelerate cooperation in the tourism industry, and help in the formation of a unified tourism space.
