Russian farmers’ grain yield in new regions totals 4.8 mln tons — ministry

This year’s grain crop yield is 26% higher than last year’s, Alexander Kashirikhin noted

MOSCOW, November 28. /TASS/. Russian farmers’ yield in new regions has reached 4.8 mln tons of grain, including 3.8 mln tons of wheat, deputy head of the Agriculture Ministry’s department Alexander Kashirikhin said.

"In new regions <…> 4.8 mln tons of grain [have been harvested], including 3.8 mln tons of wheat, 762,000 tons of barley, 121,000 tons of corn, 1.5 mln tons of sunflower, 96,900 tons of canola flower, 34,200 tons of potatoes, 83,800 tons of vegetables," he told a roundtable at the Federation Council (upper house of the parliament).

This year’s grain crop yield is 26% higher than last year’s, the official added.
