Kyrgyzstan wants Gazprom to produce oil and gas in the republic — Energy Minister

According to Energy Minister of Kyrgyzstan Taalaibek Ibrayev, in 2014 in Kyrgyzstan, gas supply to the population was at the level of 22%, and today the figure has risen to 38%

ST. PETERSBURG, November 1. /TASS/. Kyrgyzstan wants Gazprom to produce oil and gas on its territory, Energy Minister of Kyrgyzstan Taalaibek Ibrayev said at the plenary meeting of the St. Petersburg International Gas Forum.

"We have good projects with Gazprom, for example, the Kyrgyzneftegaz project. We want Gazprom to produce oil and gas at our territory, provide our population with this gas and process oil," he said.

According to Ibrayev, in 2014 in Kyrgyzstan, gas supply to the population was at the level of 22%, and today the figure has risen to 38%.

"Today Gazprom is investing enormous amounts of investment in our gas industry," the minister noted.
