RusHydro reports electricity generation down 5.6% YOY in 2022

The year of 2022 was characterized by low water content, the company said

MOSCOW, January 30. /TASS/. Electricity generation by RusHydro declined as of 2022 year-end by 5.6% on an annualized basis to 135.7 bln kWh, the Russian energy company said on Monday.

Hydropower plants and pumped storage power plants of RusHydro generated 107.2 bln kWh. Electricity generation by thermal power plants in the Far East gained 3.6% annually to 28.1 bln kWh. Heat supplies in the Far Eastern Federal District declined by 2.7% to 29.3 mln Gcal.

The year of 2022 was characterized by low water content, RusHydro said. Water inflows in the first quarter of 2023 are expected to be closer or equal to standard water rates, the company added.

RusHydro is one of the largest Russian energy holdings comprising over 400 power generation facilities. The installed capacity of its power plants stands at 38.2 GW.
