Turkey, UN coordinating Russian grain and fertilizer export launch — Foreign Minister

At the same time, it was noted that there is no need to re-sign the grain deal, which expires on November 19

ANKARA, November 8. /TASS/. The UN and Turkey are coordinating an effort to meet Russia’s expectations to start exporting its food and fertilizer as part of the grain deal, Turkey’s Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said on Tuesday in the Turkish legislative assembly.

"Secretary-General [of the UN Antonio Guterres - TASS] is holding talks to eliminate obstacles for Russian grain and fertilizer export. Obstacles to Russian grain and fertilizer export have not been fully eliminated. We assess what steps will be made to meet Russia’s expectations, evaluate them, and coordinate efforts," the Minister said.

At the same time, Cavusoglu noted that there is no need to re-sign the grain deal, which expires on November 19. "It will be renewed tacitly if the parties agree," he noted.
