Russian Railways resumes freight shipments to Finland

The company received a notice from VR Group concerning readiness to accept freight trains from Russia

MOSCOW, March 30. /TASS/. Russian Railways received a notice from the Finnish railway operator VR Group on readiness to resume acceptance of freight trains from Russia, the company’s press service said.

"We have received a notice from VR Group concerning readiness to accept freight trains from Russia," Russian Railways said.

The railway operator added that it had transferred earlier today the first freight train to Finland with coal, chemicals, ferrous metals and containers. About 2,000 railcars with various goods with the destination in Finland are currently on the Russian Railways network.
