Hainan Free Trade Port made an online presentation on the development potential of industrial sites

HAIKOU /China/, Dec. 24. /TASS/. Six of the 11 key zones of Hainan’s advanced innovative development presented their potential at the World Expo in Dubai. As reported by the Hainan Daily newspaper, the international community was interested in the opportunities to promote cooperation in trade, tourism, and cultural and humanitarian contacts.

According to the newspaper, the Hainan Free Trade Port held an online presentation on the development potential of the Yangpu deep-water port in the north-west of the province, the Yazhouwan science city in Sanya city on the southern coast of the island, Lecheng International Tourism Zone (east), Wenchang Star City (northeast), the region's leading educational cluster in Lingshui Li Autonomous County called Lian (south) and the Chengmai County Software Ecopark (north).

China's southernmost province organized a large-scale event at the Expo in Dubai, which ends on December 24. "Hainan Week" was held under the motto "New opportunities and a wonderful future for all" and was dedicated to the port of free trade, the creation of an international consumer zone on the island. Because of the pandemic, it was held both in-person and online: many foreign guests were able to view presentations remotely.

Among the event’s outlines was "Haikou Day", dedicated to the benefits of the administrative center of Hainan, as well as "Sanya Day", where visitors could learn interesting information about the largest resort on the island. The province representatives are planning to expand their list of useful contacts and strengthen its influence in the international arena at the exhibition in Dubai.

The World Expo is a major international event that allows participating countries to present themselves to the world and showcase the latest scientific and technological developments and cultural achievements. In recent years, these global events have become a platform for public diplomacy and national branding. The large-scale event in Dubai was originally supposed to be held from October 2020 to April 2021, but due to the pandemic, it was postponed to the period from October 2021 to the end of March 2022.
