Russia’s arms exports over first eight months of 2016 exceed $7 billion — official

In 2015, Russia's arms export stood at $14.5 billion

KUBINKA (Moscow region), September 6. /TASS/. Over the first eight months of the current year, Russia has exported abroad military products worth more than $7 billion, CEO of Russia’s State Corporation Rostec Sergei Chemezov told reporters on Tuesday.

"Over the first eight months of 2016, the volume of exported military products accounted for more than $7 billion," the official said.

Chemezov recalled that the order portfolio of Russia’s Rosoboronexport arms exporting company (a subsidiary of Rostec) exceeded $46 billion.

In 2015, Russia exported weapons to the tune of $14.5 billion. In early July, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that since the beginning of the year, Russia had exported arms worth $4.6 billion.
