MOSCOW, May 20. /TASS/. The defense manufacturer Uralvagonzavod (part of Russia’s state tech corporation Rostec) will feature an upgraded T-90MS Proryv tank, a TOS-1A Solntsepyok heavy flamethrower and a multipurpose armored engineer vehicle at the 12th MILEX international armament and military hardware exhibition in Minsk, the company’s press office reported on Tuesday.
"At the 12th MILEX 2025 international armament and military hardware exhibition that will run in the capital of the Republic of Belarus on May 21-24, Uralvagonzavod Group will demonstrate on its display stand a modernized export version of the T-90MS tank, a TOS-1A heavy flamethrower system and a multipurpose armored engineer vehicle. The hardware in the form of 1:10 mockups will be on Uralvagonzavod’s display stand within the exposition of Rosoboronexport," the press office said in a statement.
Similar to T-90M Proryv serial-produced tanks supplied to the Russian Army, the T-90MS main battle tank has undergone an extra upgrade taking into account the experience of the special military operation in Ukraine. Specifically, the combat vehicle is provided with effective modular all-round protection of its hull and turret against basic modern anti-tank weapons, including drones and loitering munitions. The tank is outfitted with reactive and slat armor and counter-drone electronic warfare capabilities. An option is envisioned to mount active and extra protection suites for operation in urban warfare, it said.
The unique feature of the UBIM multipurpose armored engineer vehicle is that it combines the functions of three vehicles at once: an armored repair and recovery vehicle, an obstacle-clearing vehicle and a mine-clearing vehicle. The high degree of its protection and its mobility make it a multipurpose tool to accompany troops in conflicts of any intensity, the press office explained.
Also, the TOS-1A Solntsepyok heavy flamethrower has undergone a substantial upgrade in recent years, with additional counter-drone systems and extra side screens mounted on it, the press office said.
