Ukrainian troops double enveloped near Novaya Kruglyakovka in Kharkov Region

According to Marochko, the enemy is trying to retain a strategic height on the Lozovaya bank

LUGANSK, January 23. /TASS/. Russian forces have improved their positions in several settlements in the Kharkov Region and double enveloped a Ukrainian unit near Novaya Kruglyakova, military expert Andrey Marochko told TASS.

"A pincer maneuver has been conducted near Novaya Kruglyakovka. Russian forces improved their tactical positions near the settlements of Zagryzovo in the Kharkov Region and are advancing toward Boguslavka. They also narrowed inter-position gaps in the flanks of assault groups and thus double enveloped Ukrainian militants from two sides northeast of Novaya Kruglyakovka, driving the enemy to disadvantageous positions. As of now, the distance between our advanced units near Zagryzovo and Lozovaya is around three kilometers. Ukrainian troops are running the risk of being encircled when our assault groups move toward each other along the Lozovaya River bank," he said.

According to Marochko, the enemy is trying to retain a strategic height on the Lozovaya bank but "the current tactical situation hints that such efforts are futile, he added.
