Russia promoting its drones on global market — arms export agency

Rosoboronexport to present some of Russia’s key developments in this sphere at the Aero India air show

BANGALORE, February 15. /TASS/. Russia is keeping an eye on the development of unmanned aerial systems and their promotion on the global market, CEO of the Russian arms export agency Rosoboronexport Alexander Mikheev told TASS in an interview on the sidelines of the Aero India 2023 international air show.

"Russia is paying close attention to the development of unmanned systems and their promotion on the global market. Interaction with foreign partners helps domestic businesses better understand their needs and develop this promising area. At Aero India 2023, Rosoboronexport presented the multifunctional system with Orlan-10E drones, the system with Orlan-30 UAVs and the reconnaissance strike system with the long-range Orion-E drone," Mikheev said.

According to him, in parallel with the improvement of military drones and the enhancement of their role on the battlefield, the development of countermeasures systems to them is underway. "Such equipment is needed not only in wartime, since even small civilian drones may pose a major hazard for such facilities as airports and the skies above them," the chief executive added.

Rosoboronexport will present some of Russia’s key developments in this sphere at the Aero India air show, Mikheev said.
