Over 25,000 people evacuated from Donbass, Ukraine to Russia in past 24 hours - top brass

MOSCOW, June 25. /TASS/. Over 25,000 people have been evacuated to Russia from the dangerous areas of Donbass republics and Ukraine over the past 24 hours, head of Russia’s National Defense Control Center Mikhail Mizintsev said at a briefing on Saturday.

"In the past 24 hours, without the participation of the Ukrainian side, from the dangerous regions of Ukraine and the Donbass republics, 25,674 people, including 3,803 children, have been evacuated to the territory of the Russian Federation," said Mizintsev who also heads Russia’s Joint Coordination Headquarters for Humanitarian Response in Ukraine.

According to the military official, in all, since the beginning of Russia’s special military operation, 2,101,613 people have been evacuated, including 333,073 children.

"Some 321,565 units of private automotive transportation have crossed the state border of the Russian Federation, including 4,751 in 24 hours," he noted.
