MOSCOW, July 1. /TASS/. The latest corvette Rezkiy under construction for the Russian Pacific Fleet was rolled out from the slipway at the Amur Shipyard in Russia’s Far East and placed in the float-out dock for its transfer to the delivery base in several months’ time, the Pacific Fleet’s press office reported on Thursday.
The rollout ceremony took place on the day of the 85th anniversary of the Shipyard’s foundation, the press office said.
"Today, an official ceremony was held at the Amur Shipyard in the city of Komsomolsk-on-Amur to roll out the Project 20380 fourth serial-built corvette Rezkiy for the Pacific Fleet from the slipway and place it in the launch dock. The warship was laid down at the Amur Shipyard on July 1, 2016," the press office said in a statement.
The rollout ceremony was attended by Pacific Fleet Combat Training Chief Rear Admiral Yevgeny Sirota, who congratulated the Amur shipbuilders on behalf of the Pacific Fleet’s Military Council on the Shipyard’s 85th anniversary and thanked it for its assistance to the Fleet, the statement says.
The corvette is set to be transferred to the acceptance base in Vladivostok in several months to complete its construction, carry out shipbuilders’ sea and state trials and deliver it to the Pacific Fleet, the press office informed.
The Project 20380 corvette Rezkiy is a green-water warship designated to fight enemy surface ships and submarines and to provide artillery support for amphibious assault operations.
The corvette incorporates the latest solutions for reducing its physical fields. In particular, the shipbuilders significantly reduced its radar signature during its construction, using radio absorption materials and specially designing the ship’s hull and superstructure.
Project 20380 ships are armed with multi-purpose artillery guns, surface-to-air missile/artillery systems, supersonic missiles and automatic artillery launchers. The Project 20380 corvettes can carry a Ka-27 helicopter. They displace 2,200 tonnes and have a crew of 99.
