US-Iran ceasefire talks at impasse now — media

According to The Wall Street Journal, Tehran has refused to meet with US officials in Islamabad and has called Washington’s demands unacceptable

NEW YORK, April 3. /TASS/. The current round of ceasefire talks between the US and Iran, led by regional mediators headed by Pakistan, has reached a standstill, The Wall Street Journal reported, citing mediators.

According to the publication, Tehran has refused to meet with US officials in Islamabad and has called Washington’s demands unacceptable. Meanwhile, Turkey and Egypt continue to seek a way out of the impasse and are considering alternative venues for negotiations, including Doha and Istanbul.

Earlier, Iran put forward conditions for ending the war, including reparations from the United States, the withdrawal of American troops from bases in the Middle East, and guarantees against further strikes.
