Zelensky not ready for compromises on Donbass, Zaporozhye NPP

Vladimir Zelensky earlier stated that even the United States had failed to reach an agreement on the two main issues of conflict resolution

MOSCOW, January 30. /TASS/. In a conversation with Ukrainian journalists, Vladimir Zelensky rejected the possibility of a compromise on Donbass and the use of the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP) again.

"Ukraine is not ready for compromises that would violate its territorial integrity. We will not cede Donbass and the ZNPP to the Russians without a fight," the Ukrainian media resource Novosti.Live quotes Zelensky as saying. He added that a compromise on Donbass "has not yet been found."

Earlier, Zelensky stated that even the United States had failed to reach an agreement on the two main issues of conflict resolution - the use of the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant and Ukraine's territorial cession.

Russian Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov emphasized that the Ukrainian army must withdraw from Donbass for the settlement process to proceed. He recalled that Russia's position is well known: the "Anchorage formula" was discussed and an understanding reached with American negotiators and US President Donald Trump. However, commenting on Zelensky's refusal in Davos to withdraw troops from Donbas, he noted that while negotiations are ongoing, it is inappropriate to discuss individual aspects of this process in public.
