Death toll from Iran's overnight strikes on Israel rises to 8 — media

Israel's Health Ministry reported that a total of 287 people with various injuries were admitted to hospitals overnight

TEL AVIV, June 16. /TASS/. Three more bodies were pulled out of the rubble after an Iranian missile hit a building in the Israeli city of Haifa, the Ynet news website reported.

These victims had previously been listed as missing. The total number of people killed in the overnight attacks on Israel has now reached eight, the media outlet noted.

Israel's Health Ministry reported that a total of 287 people with various injuries were admitted to hospitals overnight. At least one person was hospitalized with critical injuries, 13 people suffered injuries of moderate severity, and 240 others had minor injuries, the ministry said, adding that another 11 people sought medical help due to shock, and more than 20 patients are currently undergoing medical examinations, the severity of their condition has yet to be confirmed.

Overnight into June 13, Israel kicked off Operation Rising Lion, aimed against Iran’s nuclear program. Iran responded in less than 24 hours. In the following days, Tel Aviv and Tehran exchanged strikes again. Both parties reported casualties and damage, and admitted that a number of facilities had been hit, but said the damage was limited.
