Effectiveness of Iran's air defenses increases 3 times — chief of General Staff

Mohammad Bagheri noted that any violation of Iran's airspace would result in significant losses for the enemy

DUBAI, May 19. /TASS/. Lieutenant-General Mohammad Bagheri, the Chief of the General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, announced that the efficiency of the country's air defense systems has significantly improved, warning that any act of aggression would inflict colossal damage on adversaries.

"The effectiveness of air defense combat components, including means of intercepting and destroying air targets, has increased two to three times. This enhancement applies to both guided missiles and short-range systems. The battle management systems are fully operational and provide real-time coordination of air defense troops," Bagheri stated on Iran's state television and radio broadcaster. He emphasized that "the country's armed forces maintain 100-percent combat readiness."

According to the chief of the Iranian General Staff, over the past year, "the number of radar and detection systems has increased fivefold, greatly enhancing the ability to detect and monitor enemy activities."

Iran's air defense units remain on constant alert, conducting regular "exercises that ensure readiness to repel any threat swiftly."

"Any violation of Iran's airspace will result in significant losses for the enemy. Undoubtedly, the cost of such aggression will far outweigh any tactical benefits the adversary might hope to gain," Bagheri concluded.
