Tokayev calls Russia Kazakhstan’s major strategic partner

"Kazakhstan and Russia demarcated the longest land frontier on the continent on the basis of mutual consent from the very beginning," the Kazakh President recalled

ASTANA, April 24. /TASS/. Russia is Kazakhstan’s major strategic partner and reliable ally, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said at the session of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan.

"Russia is Kazakhstan’s major strategic partner and its reliable ally," Tokayev was quoted as saying by the president’s press service. "Kazakhstan and Russia demarcated the longest land frontier on the continent on the basis of mutual consent from the very beginning," he said when speaking about neighboring countries.

Kazakhstan’s cooperation with China has deep roots, the president added. "The Chinese people has never done harm to the Kazakh people, nor will it do in the future," he noted.
