US understands Russia's position on Ukraine better after consultations — Rubio

WASHINGTON, April 23. /TASS/. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that the United States now understands Russia's position on the crisis in Ukraine much better after holding a series of bilateral consultations.

"What I would say we’re involved in is understanding what the Russian position is. We have a better understanding of that now because we’ve actually spoken to them after three years of not speaking to them," he said in an interview with The Free Press.

"What is the Ukrainian position and figure out are these guys even in the same neighborhood because of their completely different zip codes. Then, we may have to conclude that they’re so far apart that peace is impossible at this time."
