"China strongly opposes groundless accusations and political manipulations," Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Guo Jiakun pointed out

BEIJING, April 23. /TASS/. The Chinese authorities strongly oppose Kiev’s unfounded accusations over the alleged participation of Chinese nationals in the Ukraine conflict on Russia’s side and China's defense cooperation with Moscow, Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Guo Jiakun said.

"China strongly opposes groundless accusations and political manipulations," he pointed out at a briefing in response to a Western journalist’s request to comment on the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry's recent summoning of the Chinese ambassador.

Guo specified that Beijing had already clarified its position on the matter.

Earlier, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said that it had summoned Chinese Ambassador to Kiev Ma Shengkun over allegations about the participation of Chinese citizens in fighting on Russia’s side and Beijing’s defense cooperation with Moscow.
