Oman’s sultan describes relations with Russia as robust, durable

The talks between Putin and Haitham bin Tariq Al Said mark the first meeting of heads of state in the history of bilateral relations between Russia and Oman

MOSCOW, April 22. /TASS/. Sultan of Oman Haitham bin Tariq Al Said has called the relations between the Arab country and Russia strong and durable, speaking during talks with President Vladimir Putin.

"Our countries enjoy strong and solid relations, which we are developing for the benefit of our peoples," he said. "We strive to ensure that our relations are privileged in nature," the head of state added.

The talks between Putin and Haitham bin Tariq Al Said mark the first meeting of heads of state in the history of bilateral relations between Russia and Oman. Following the meeting, the delegations plan to sign 10 agreements, including a mutual waiver of visa requirements for ordinary passport holders. A protocol on the establishment of a joint commission for trade, economic and technical cooperation is also ready to be signed.
