Russian Kublitsky asks US court to postpone hearing of his case to August

His lawyer John Torikashvili stated that while the hearing is currently scheduled for April, the parties need more time to review the case materials and to negotiate a possible pre-trial agreement

NEW YORK, April 1. /TASS/. The lawyer of Russian Pavel Kublitsky, accused of cyber fraud in the United States, has filed a motion with the Florida District Court requesting a postponement of his client’s case from April to August, according to the document posted on the court’s database.

In the motion, Kublitsky's lawyer, John Torikashvili, stated that while the hearing is currently scheduled for April, the parties need more time to review the case materials and to negotiate a possible pre-trial agreement. "Defendant Pavel Kublitsky respectfully requests this Court continue the matter for three months to the August 2025 trial term," the lawyer noted in the motion.

In August, Russian citizen Pavel Kublitsky and Kazakh national Alexander Khodyrev were charged with cyber fraud. The US alleges that they were involved in the activities of the WWH platform, which operated in the underground sector of the Internet - the darknet. They allegedly acquired stolen bank account numbers, forged documents, and employed hackers. The men face charges of conspiracy to traffic in unauthorized access devices and possession of 15 or more unauthorized access devices. Court documents also indicate that the defendants arrived in South Florida in December 2022, after previously seeking asylum in the US. They were not officially employed.
