DUBAI, March 31. /TASS/. Iran's Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, stated that he does not believe a US attack on the country from outside is likely, but warned that if Washington attempts to incite rebellion within the Islamic Republic, it will receive a strong response.
"They threaten to take harmful actions, but we do not believe, and it is unlikely, that they will act from the outside. However, if they do, our response will be tough. If they think of inciting rebellion inside the country, the Iranian people will respond," Khamenei said during a sermon marking the Eid al-Fitr holiday, broadcast by the IRIB TV channel.
On March 30, US President Donald Trump announced that in two weeks he was going to impose secondary duties on Iran if no progress in negotiations on Iran's nuclear program is made. On March 7, Trump wrote on his Truth Social page that he had sent a message to Khamenei proposing negotiations on Tehran’s nuclear program.
