IAEA experts inspect diesel fuel storage facility at ZNPP

The plant emphasized that safety is its top priority and that such inspections "affirm the plant's readiness for any emergency situations and its openness to the international community"

MELITOPOL, March 28. /TASS/. Experts from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) inspected the diesel fuel storage facility at the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant in response to statements from the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry regarding alleged damage to the plant's fuel tanks.

"Employees of the Zaporozhye NPP, along with representatives from the technical supervision agency, showcased the diesel fuel storage facility to IAEA experts. The purpose of the inspection was to verify the integrity of the tanks and confirm the availability of fuel for the emergency diesel generators, which provide power to the plant during critical situations," the ZNPP stated on its Telegram channel.

The plant emphasized that safety is its top priority and that such inspections "affirm the plant's readiness for any emergency situations and its openness to the international community."

On Wednesday, March 26, ZNPP CEO Yury Chernichuk dismissed the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry's claims about damage to the plant's fuel tanks as false information.
