Gaza situation to calm down once Hamas' military power stamped out — Israeli envoy

Alexander Ben Zvi said that "Gaza will take on a different form" which is focused on cooperation and rebuilding infrastructure

MOSCOW, March 25. /TASS/. The situation in the Gaza Strip will calm down only when Hamas ceases to exist as a military force, Acting Israeli Ambassador to Russia Alexander Ben Zvi told TASS in an interview.

"Gaza will calm down only after Hamas ceases to exist as a military force. In practice, Gaza will take on a different form: one focused on cooperation and rebuilding infrastructure, instead of continuing to attack Israel," he pointed out.

"If it continues like that, military operations will also continue. And I’m not even talking about our 59 hostages whom they hold and whom they must release. Clearly, some of them are no longer alive," the diplomat observed, adding: "That said, the liberation of the hostages is a priority for us at the moment."
