MOSCOW, March 14. /TASS/. Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said the integration of Belarus and Russia should never be reversed.

"Our historical mission today, based on the certain facts that I have named, is to make the process of Belarusian-Russian integration irreversible," he said at the Federation Council, the upper house of the Russian parliament. He said the countries will go down this path with dignity. According to Lukashenko, the point of the Union State between the countries is to achieve deep integration and create a common economic space while preserving the political sovereignty of each country. He said the sides have come to an understanding that without building a solid economic basis, unified markets of primary energy resources, there can be no effective progress in the issues of further integration. "We have signed a treaty to create a united market of electric energy. This is a good step, but we need to move on," the president stated.
